A militant who's known to be a close ally of suspected Chechen terrorist Akhmed Zakaev has been arrested in the Chechen capital Grozny.
Magomed Deniev is accused of heading a group of militants who fought Russian troops between 1997 and 2002.
Police say Deniev commanded one of the smaller groups which came under Zakaev's command.
In 2003, Zakaev received political asylum in Britain, where he still lives.
Britain has denied Russian requests to extradite him.
