‘Syrian elections show real Western contempt for democracy’

02.06.2014 09:57

The West has been calling for democracy in Syria for years, and when the elections took place they not only denounced them but actually prevented some Syrians from voting outside the country, political writer and journalist Dan Glazebrook told RT.

@RonS' post....lots of people don't have the faintest idea as to what is going on but most of them understand that this disqualifies them from commenting.

what about russia and china. the American President was gone as far as it is present at the appointment of the president Ukraine, what do you expect to congratulate your ally al-assad. I do not know how long we will fear reactions usa while this country don't makes any consideration for others, it can crush even his allies for his interests

When the MB ran for Pres in Egypt, they pre-printed the ballots with mark action of Morsi, and stuffed them in the ballot boxes. That is what the Carter international election monitors approve of? Forget democracy! The US supports and encourages fanatic Islamists? Why? Their pay-masters in Saudi Arabia and Israel dictates so! The rest of the sheeple don't even think.

West doesnt have democracy either. Its a myth and a trick.

The only country that has democracy in the west is Switzerland. All the others just pretend they do, and exploite these lies with the people to legitimize fascism.

Democracy is this idea they sell children and some people grow up into adults still believing it. A bit like santa claus.

It is never a good idea to hold elections while the country is in the state it's in now. What needs to happen is the implementation of a UN led governing initiative that can properly govern until the country is fit to hold proper elections.

Don't act as if the country hasn't been destroyed! Everything is not fine...

Are you talking about the sham coup and vote in UKAINE?

Syria is a sovereign nation. It is none of US and EU business who the Syrian people elect to represent them or if they want to have a monarchy. It's their business, not yours.

Mind your own bankrupt nation's business .Do something legally, morally and honestly to get your economies on the right track besides. There is no honor in stealing and killing.

That awkward, and scary, moment you realize you just read propaganda. I'm absolutely petrified and seriously concerned about this...

That's how I felt when I read your comment.

First they need to assure that voting is honest in the US. The liberals, obama's voter base, are doing everything that they can to assure that voter fraud continues. Voter ID is a no no because it is racist??? NO, because the liberals like 10 votes per person. The machines are fixed. All the dead people are voting, some several times and in different states. Voting is nothing but a joke in the US now. It certainly is not honest or dependable.
