After his "NSA speech" my new name for Obama is "Misleader of the Free World".
BTW , I like the placard, shown in one of this article's accompanying graphics - ala his campaign motif, which states boldly "Yes We Scan (deal with it)".

Our illustrious Congressmen and women were only looking for a way out and Obama gave it to them. Lots of push back from constituents demanding action against a program that they want to keep intact. This is just kabuki theater

Snowdan, you need to drop that bomb-shell you keep talking about. America has completely lost its credibility and there is no way for them to get it back. America has become like the nazis.

Snowden should release more files on NSA....

1970s UK BT telecom sold a coms system to Tehran that could track and record every call and location ,thousands died or disappeared after that system was put in ,facts like this seem to get lost in the mists of time

We used to have computers in cars that just looked after the cars emission systems and did something for the driver ,now they are the governments spy in your life, part of the governments total recall system ,there is not to much we can do but as long as people keep outing these systems there is action we take on these systems and get the news out to others !

In all this hair splitting someting does not add up.
Which part of "this is unconstitutional&quo t; thus illegal, is difficult to grasp for the prezident AND CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR ?

This is all heavily one sided reporting. Russia and China have also been using similar techniques of spying on other countries and their subjects and leaders, and companies for just as long. The only difference is the US scheme got thrown into the limelight because of Snowden. Truth is the rest of the world would love this capability - they may even (probably) have it, they're just better at keeping it secret and don't employ people with dubious intentions.

People READ the Puzzle Palace this the story about the begaining of the NSA what Obama said is just the same as it use to be done some 50 years ago. Third party companies like Pac Bell and Western Union kept the information and every week some person would show up and pick up the information copy it and return it to thhe companies the next day. The companies would lose goverment contracts if they said no and you have seen that done less then 2 years ago. This whole thing is just using the same play book for those of us that don't know no better or just don't care.
THE PUZZLE PALACE by JAMES BAMFORD read this PLEASE!

OMG...the worst of all worlds-giving big sloppy corporations more responsibility and revenue.

Wh at a gift to the President's buddies. It's a creepy feeling having corporations handle all that data. It will surely lead to more identity theft and banking and credit card theft.

Snow den worked for a contractor. The fed gov't farms out too much of the nations business. It's not how to collect data it's not collecting it all.

Why are there illegal drugs and guns and killings? Where is the Fed Gov't they do not have security in mind and the results show it.
