Fortunately, Vice-President Maduro is highly accomplished military man; Venezuela needs him.

As far as the US is concerned, international heads of state that would like to attack the US are more dangerous than ever before. When in actuality the opposite is true. The real situation is that the US miltary is winding down in Afghanistan/Iraq and they must have an immediate replacement war. Anyone will do even Chavez's replacement, who will be demonized by a conspiratorial US press and media along with Bin Laden's son in law, Bradley Manning, NK, Iran. The Gestapo sees enemies everywhere to make sure that they will always be needed.

Between 1998 and 2006 malnutrition related deaths fell by 50%
More public servants - more teachers, doctors, and social workers.
More imports because people and country have more money to buy goods.
Real (inflation-adjusted) GDP has nearly doubled, growing by 94.7 percent in 5.25 years, or 13.5 percent annually.
Export s in 1999 - $3.6bn, 2008 - $31.8bn

I think the person who was interviewed was extremely low educated on the matter. Thing is that, before Chavez was elected there was 50% import and
50 000 public servants, Chavez claimed he would fix it, now after his death the import is 80% and there are 100 000 public servants, the few scraps that he gave to the people mean nothing. The extremely low educated people in Venezuela are crazy to have voted for Chavez over and over again, they effectively have crippled their own economy, and trashed their own future, which they call revolution, its not a revolution its called going back in time.
