Bit difficult to see what effect the threat of capital punishment would have on suicide bombers or their associates. Sorry to say, extra-judicial capital punishment has been in force in Russia for many years and we see the consequences, very sadly, today. Judicial capital punishment is highly unlikely to be re-introduced in practice (it is still, I believe, on the statute books) as it would disqualify Russia from continued membership of the Council of Europe. So I'm with with those who think this idea is a non-starter

This is terrible! This is exactly what the terrorist wantend (the reestablishment of capital punishment)! I hope the death penalty will be comletely abolished!! It kill a human being is inhumane and a crime, no matter if its executet by a criminal terrorist or by law through the goverment! Peoples of Russia say no to capital punishment! We have to be better than the terrorists!

When Evil can not be put in chains there would be reason to deprive the life of another human being. For instance during a military conflict or to deprive a person from committing a great injustice and where the only way to stop it was through killing the culprit. On the contrary the State should not apply the death penalty its citizens or others living in the land. Why? Too many innocent have been proven innocent after put to death! One too many innocent people have been killed by the state throughout the history of man! Too many times “false evidence” has been created for the purpose of finding innocents guilty of crimes which they did not commit!!
