Egyptian truce proposal may open Gaza

A “mega-truce” proposal that would end Gaza’s isolation, restore Palestinian unity and expedite a long-stalled prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas has been put on the table by Egypt.

When the needs must do you do a treaty with the devil?? This proposal comes from a reactionary president of Egypt who would marvel if he had 70% voter support in an election for the presidency - and an avowed hater of everythng Palestinian in Netanyahu. On the otherhand - the properly elected Premier of the West Bank and Gaza Hanaye - with 75% of the total vote - is still to be denied his lawful place - whilst Abu Masen [Abbas}is de facto president of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza - his term having expired many months ago. Seems to me that this is another false "Olive Branch" for Peace and the restoration of Human Rights of all Palestinians whether in Gaza Lebanon or the West Bank of Jordan. The Palestinian factions are still unable to reach a political compromise with Fatah zealots asassinating Hamas stalwarts in Ramallah and other locales most recently - or - were such zealots agents of Mossad acting on orders of whom? It is timely for Fatah and Hamas to agree to bury the hatchet and focus on how best jointly to defeat Israel politically in the arena of the Middle East and to cease squabbling amongst themselves. Is this current Egyptian/Israeli/US proposal the catalyst to acheive that truce and Palestinian politicaj unity in the ultimate interests of the long suffering and impoverished people they both claim to represent?? Whilst each Palestinian faction is seeking greater cuedos over the other in the international arena both are ignoring the reality before them to their detriment. ///snowyone.
