Serbia's Parliament is debating whether to apologize to Bosnian Muslims over the massacre of eight thousand men and boys in Srebrenica in 1995.
Nationalists have rejected the draft resolution, saying it should also mention Serb victims of the nineties conflict.
Misha Gavrilovic, a Balkans expert who's been following events in the former Yugoslavia for 20 years thinks there is external pressure coming from the EU from the tribunal in The Hague and also from the US for Serbia to “declare itself guilty in some way.”

Welcome to NATO Bosnia, we would love to have you! I have been to your country of course, that was to defend you, but I did notice how beautiful it was. We as Americans and the rest of our brothers on your continent would greet you with open arms to join our great alliance known as NATO to protect you from Serbia. U.S.A

In reality, watching the things from todays' perspective, after 10-15 years, what happened ? NATO essentially has destroyed Yugoslavia, and Serbia itself with its aggression on Serbs Republic and on Republic of Serbia (Than Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) 1995 and 1999 respectively. They (Nato) used every possible weapon literally and metaphorically (economic weapons, sanctions, civil wars, bombs, psi ops, unreached uranium ...) to achieve initially 2 things: conquer the Serb Province of Kosovo and Metohia and to trigger violent political changes in Serbia/Yugoslavia (overthrow of legitimate Serbian and Yugoslav presidents and prime ministers). So, what initially seemed to be an "justified" war finally is proven to be just excuse for NATO to conquer territory of an sovereign country. Just simple as that. Today, watching the Parliament of Serbia to apologies for something that has nothing to do with Serbia (even the Hague court separated role of Serbia from that events), is, at least, sad ! Hopefully the same parliament will give its apologies to the Serbs, victims of war, from Bosnia and Croatia for not protecting them.
