Following a terrorist attack on a power station in Kabardino-Balkaria, President Dmitry Medvedev has been briefed on the measures being taken in the North Caucasian republic to boost security at strategic facilities.
North Caucasian republics resemble the thorns for Russia that need to be smoothened and pacified. Moscow is walking on a tight rope. While on one hand it wants to befriend the Muslim world, it needs to tackle the ethnic Muslims in its backyard on the other. Such dilemma could continue to haunt the government in years to come. Could there be an amiable and tangible solution?

Someone in Europe is sending signal to Medvedev and the trace leads to London.
