Gaddafi barred from entering Russia

President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree banning entry to Russia as well as transit through its territory to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, his family and high-ranking aides.
But Gaddafi was the same for some time now, being pro West, surely he must have been aware that the West would get rid of him at first opportunity, just as the West will do with the present Russian government, should it ever get a chance. Gaddafi, Belarus, the present Russian government + some others have shown too much independence in the past and are all on the black list, no matter how hard they try, they will not be crossed out of until they succumb to the West 100% by privatizing as cheaply as possible all they have (including the media) + making sure this goes to the Western mutli nationals.
Maybe Gaddafi wouldn’t be a true democratic, but he has assured until now the indipendence of his country. I cannot understand why Russia is playing now (and in other circumstances) the game of US, against its own interests.
Russia wants to "lessen its dependence on natural resources by promoting “innovative” technologies, selling state assets and creating a “special sovereign” fund to attract foreign capital," Medvedev said. And he wants American bankers to help create the legal and physical infrastructure required to "lure financial flows to the Russian capital."
“We believe it is very important to participate in the committees advising President Medvedev on how to transform Moscow into a financial center,” said Dimitri Agishev, a Deutsche Bank spokesman, in an e-mailed statement. Russia continues to be a key market with ample opportunities.”
So who have they asked for some help? Pretty much every bank chief from another global financial center: Wall Street.
Lloyd Blankfein, Jamie Dimon and Vikram Pandit have all just been recruited by the Kremlin to advise Russia on how to turn Moscow into a finance hub, Bloomberg reports.
Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev announced 27 people in total to be part of the group. Apart from the Goldman, JP Morgan and Citi chiefs, BofA's Brian Moynihan was also asked, and so was Blackstone head Steve Schwarzman.
The Russians probably got a good deal for doing this, in politics very little comes free of charge. Should Gaddafi survive, they will probably be the first to acknowledge + start cooperating with him again.
Russia should all that it can to make life difficult for Gaddafi. What Russia should never do is support the U.S military intervention in the Libya. The United States, is the nation behind such damning crimes against humanity as using nuclear weapons against civilians in WWII, the nation that used massive and state backed sexual sadism in Abu Gharaib, the nation that is running torture camp in U.S occupied Cuban land in Guantanamon, the nation that is seeking to charge the death penalty with Julian Assange and is torturing Bradley Manning, cannot be given another chance unleash corporate driven mass destruction followed by mass looting in Libya,
Is Russia also a pawn of the USA? Hope not.
Finally a russian govt with thier heads out of the sand, Russia and the West together can only be good. PR101 get into the 21st century, as your statements are from the 20th century... keep up boy...
Peter: and what has the United States done in 21 century? Just list all the horrific things the United States did under the banner of “the international community” in the 21 century.Funny because the first days of 21th century feel like the first days of the 20 the century when all the prevailing internal international structures collapsed and fascists went on the march. The United States- with its aggressive militarism abroad and aggressive xenophobic political discourse at home looks more and more like the early days of the brown shirts in Germany.
Pls let's ask for a way out in Libya instead of western military intervention wich I am afraid could lead to the arab world emancipation thus a fight against liberalism. Bcos I can't see US succeding in Irak or Afganistan. Moreso I don't think US or UK can protect we the neigbouring country to a wounded lion like Gaddafi who is treatening to join Alquaida once touch by the west. What an end to this world!
This is very sad that Russia became puppet of US and London, attack on Libya is breaking down of international Convention and low: France and UK like kill children in other country;but must need to known that Paris and London can be flattened once again.
we are all led by wolves dressed like sheep , hoping we dont notice our goverments spend millioms of £/$,s on weapons they can only get rid of by killing some inocents and calling it collateral damage . disarm the rebel,s . then if they are attacked then blow the shit out of those who would are doing the attacking , their should be no support of any rebel with a gun as they would not be civilians. ? what if the population of britain or america where top protest niot in hundreds of thousands but millions , would they listen to the majority or would they do the same as other authoritarian countries . we in the western world have allowed these goverments to do our bidding in the name of capitilism so long as we get out what we can.
The Russian leadership really are a bunch of spineless pussies! At on time or another Putin was going to build a military base on Libya at Ghaddafi's invitaion. He declined. Now I believe they are in bed together with the New World Order.
All it needed was a veto by them or China and none of this would have happened. Backstabbing scumbags!
Russia really would have been better off had the Soviet Union not collapsed. Never thought I'd say that...
Now they just puppets and lackies for the US and the EU!

How dissapointing, can't belive that Russia is giving hand to own enemies. It will happen in Russia at first occasion, just like Yugoslavia, Irak, Avganistan.......
