The Russian lawmakers have released a statement condemning Georgia's destruction of a WWII memorial in the city of Kutaisi and urged the global community to denounce the move by the Georgian authorities too.
Saakashvili is copying the deeds of all pro-American post Soviet countries. The only difference is that Georgians did not fight on German side in WW2, unlike Estonians or Ukrainians. So, since there is no defeated army to promote, the only thing Saakashvili can do is destroying WW2 monuments to his own people, in order to join the trend. It's only purpose is destroying everything that connects Georgian and Russian people. It's the same recipe used in throughout former Yugoslavia and USSR. These actions are so predictable, that they don't shock anybody anymore. The immorality of Georgian regime does.
It's very simple. Georgia is a sovereign nation. They can do whatever they want on their own soil with regards to monuments on their soil. Deal with it.
Never seek revenge on the dead. Psycho puppet or "the greate visionary" Sakashvili plays again to american tune to create animosity among states in this region to process easier with encircling of the resources richest state on Earth it's necessary to fuel anti russian sentiments first. It's not US with it's "gifts" to the world of current 4 wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen), financial crisis and swine flu who is a real strategic ally for Georgia here. It's Georgia who is strategic ally for US in the region of future sponsored war. It's interesting to see what energy hungry and economically sinking US can do for Georgia (weapons + freshly printed future "toilet paper"). Or to see what can resources rich Russia do for Georgia? to Tom: I am glad you supported the same way decision of sovereign Afghanistan state when they decided to blow up Budha's statues in Bamiyan Valley and that you also recognize not only China or Iran as a sovereign nations who can implement their vision of governance which suit their cultures and their needs the best.
That's right, Tom. Georgia can do whatever it wants on its territory. So, does Russia. For example, to install iskander missiles or dump nuclear waste next to the border of, say, Baltic States and Poland. Or, say, put to prison everyone who disagree with president Medvedev. That would be fair. Don't you think so, Tom?
Of course, of course, they can, Tom! It's just when all the memories of that fight are erased and new generations of half-brained ignoramuses start singing and preparing for yet another "Drang nach Osten", don't be surprised when somebody tries to crush your skull with a broken bear bottle.

Here is an "interesting" frown-deserving quote from bbc.com (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8423034.stm): "Moscow has accused the Georgian authorities of 'lack of respect' towards Georgians who fought in the Soviet army during the war, when the USSR was led by the dictator Josef Stalin, himself a Georgian". It's a perfect example of how one can distort a simple truth by mentioning something unrelated and omitting a very important and relevant detail. They could've written "when USSR fought German Nazi", which would make more sense in this context, but they've chosen to mention Stalin instead to diminish the value of that fight and to ridicule the Moscow's statement. Dr. Goebbels who needed only 10% of truth to make his case would be proud with such "journalism".
