Here they are hoping and anxiously waiting for Russian cannon fodder to go and spill Russian blood in their war for world domination. I sincerely hope Russian leadership doesn't fulfill their wishes and desires.

When will Russian leadership understand that American are in Afghanistan, like in Irak or any other place with a purpose: control the era's natural resources. To succeed in that goal, they must subdue the population and corrupt as many "collabos" as possible. This strategy has been used with success for the past 65 years. Infecting the Russian population with alcohols, tobaccos and drugs allows to destroy the society from inside. The farmers falling in Talibans' arms is a ridiculous excuse. This situation prove how weak are Russian leaders. I will even go as far as accusing them of collaboration. In that drugs' affair something is really wrong. Mr Medvedev and Putin, are you really the devil's empire accomplices? Please explain yourself. Nevertheless, I congratulate Mr Gorbachev for his wise remarks. Bests Regards...Jean-Claude Meslin you please explain and remember that your country's future is also our future

When will the "superpowers" get the message that you don't teach people "democracy" "capitalism" "socialism" or "communism" or any other type of ism at The End of a Rifle?? It is human nature to cling to your beliefs and Resist! Better to live on your feet than die on your knees. What can the world's powers do? Bomb the rest of the world into submission?? We've already seen the outcomes of that approach.

Great remark Srbin. Russian be wise, sit at home, and enyoj watching Americans dealing with their former friends and allies. There are plenty youtube clips showing CIA agents boosting Taliban morale and convincing them to fight "holy wars" against Soviets in te 80's. Billions of Dollar worth american weapons were given to Mujahedin in order to fight Soviets who in my opinion had far more noble ideas with Afghan people and country 30 yrs ago then do Anericans now. Do, they made it, now they have it. Revenge is sweet and best served chilled! Enyoj!

Jean-Claude, I think you are wrong on this point. I think Bush Jnr decided to go into Iraq to prove a point to his Daddy! 'You didn't take Bagdad, but watch, I will!' The man was/is just a war-monger hoping to score polical points. The Twin Towers incident gave him all the excuses he needed. In the UK, we had the lying, egotistical Blair, who - along with his greedy, adoring wife - saw the same advantages (I'll be another Thatcher here!) by hanging onto Bush's coat-tails! The oil probably came later. Srbin - you are a cynic - like me :))! Best wishes always.

Dave,

What you say can be true. But also I want to point your attention to the fact that the war in Iraq and A-stan has created a whole new industry in USA - private armies. Even private intelligence services. Not that that industry actually produces something, but rather strives on tax dollars. That could also be one of the goals. Bush was always promoting the idea of a Government not actually providing services, but rather outsourcing them to private sector. The last "bastion" of governmental services - military is under attack now. I am sure you understand how much money is at stake here.

Cheers.
