This is great news for peace and dialogue to global problem and a sad day for the U.S/UK neocons and war profiteering imperialists. Here is the emerging face of the global South and new global order of multi-polarity, it is shame that Russia is not in this picture!

Don't hold your breath on this one. It sounds more like another one of Iran's attempts to dodge the real issue: it's nuclear weapons program. Iran also has a long history of signing deals in order to get out of a tight situation, and then not honoring them. This is most likely just a subterfuge to get the UNSC to drop its current discussions on sanctions. I fully expect to see Iran employing all sorts of delaying tactics to avoid actually shipping out the uranium. The UNSC should continue moving towards sanctions until such a time as the IAEA has confirmed that the uranium has actually been shipped out, and the Iran is complying with all outstanding IAEA issues.

First of all, let me say that it is clear that Iran will not have nuclear weapons now. I think the deal is reasonable and I think the west should accept it. Second, the main problem is that President Obama cannot get re-elected if he accepts the deal, so he will have to pretend to be against it. Furthermore, President Sarkozy cannot get re-elected if he doesn't accept the deal, so he will have to pretend to be in favour of it. Third, the new British coalition will probably oppose the deal because it is led by Conservatives, who are traditionally against Iran, and because they have five years until their next election. Fourth; Russia, China, and Brazil will likely support the deal and prevent any further UN sanctions. Finally, I predict that this standoff will continue indefinately.

It would be nice if this all works out but Iran has previously expended considerable effort in hiding things from the IAEA and has repeatedly refused deals which offered them nuclear fuel where they were not enriching it themselves. Several countries offered them new efficient reactors but they chose more expensive and inefficient reactors which happen to produce substantial waste products which can be used to make nuclear weapons. Who knows, maybe they are on the level this time.

West must know that era of colonial powers are over. The furture super powers will no longer be the zionists nor the British nor the France and other colonial powers. I believe future belongs to oppressed. Whever has more weapons it will lose. The future belongs to Iran, Brazil. South Africa, Turkey, India, China, even Russia. The must unite and stop the colonialization fo united nations by the same powers who slaved billions throught the history. World is awake and watching. I am still surprised why Russia still is not clear about the her postion. Russia must condamn the monloplizition of technology by west. West wants to keep the technology for herslef. Who is against Iran. Look all countries who have colonial roots. Iran is brave enought to come forward and say we are independet. Iran is brave enought to come forward and say for example holocust was not only for jews it was for all, speciall russians. why the can fake 6 million jews to actual 60,000 jews who died in wwii, was't killing of 25 million russians by Germany wasn't a holocust? if a jew can fake documents and get compensation for billions of dollars the true victos of wwii who where russians must get comensiated for trillions. Here is the same story Israel has over 250 nukes while iran has nothing and does not want to have any nukes, but instead of Israel iran is punished do you know why. I tell the world why: Because Iran is truthful and West is scared of the truth and they want to keep colonizing other nations. Russia wake up please do not budge to the west. you are better more powerful and a bright future is ahead of you. Iran, Russian, India, Brazil and China must unite and have their own currency to end the monopolization of dollar and euro. Please never again let west colonize others they killed billions they stole trillions. thanks justice and peace for everyone. good luck

So now there is no need for sanctions, since this agreement is similar to the ones the Americans wanted last year. Now Israel must pressurized in the same way and also forced to sign such deals or face sanctions. Iran is the biggest economy in the Middle East, they are not just a petrol state, they produce so many things themselves and are very scientifically minded. Such people must be encouraged to continue achieving great things.

What a spoil sport Ahmadinejad is ! Hillary was fuming ! ... that dirty looking unshaven little man .. has wiped out several years of careful preparation for war by the gang of three and a half ( US-UK-France and Italy ) so as they could get petrol from Iran and exchange it for loans from China via the now famous swop's trickery ! Nasty little man ! .... but, may be, not all is lost ! In one or two years the gang of 3.5 may start to say that Turkey , known to all as an Al Queda dominated parliament , has allowed Iran to actually build an atomic bomb and that a prompt intervention is required to stop Ahmadinejad invading California to destroy all gays ! We will have generals, senators, journalists, TV hosts all swearing together with O'Bum boy, that to be true ! If it were not so tragic , it would be the best of Hollywood ! Snowhite

WORLD SHOULD FOCUS ON ISRAEL'S NUKES,ERDOGAN; Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the dispute over Iran's nuclear program has been resolved and the international community should focus on Israel now. "In fact, there is no nuclear weapon in Iran now but Israel, which is also located in our region, possesses nuclear arms. Turkey is the same distance from both of them," Turkey's Star newspaper quoted Erdogan as saying on Tuesday. "What has the international community said against Israel so far? Is this the superiority of law or the law of superiors?" he added. Most experts estimate that Israel has between 100 and 200 nuclear warheads, largely based on information leaked to the Sunday Times newspaper in the 1980s by Mordechai Vanunu, a former worker at the Israel's Dimona nuclear reactor. Israel, which has started several wars in the region in its 60-year history of occupation, maintains a policy of deliberate ambiguity over its nuclear weapons program and does not allow international inspectors to visit its nuclear sites.

mbach May 17, 2010, 19:58 I think you've been reading the NY Times or WaPo too much (they have tried to make the same connection). There is a clear reason why this is not some Iranian duplicity to upset any sanction vote - any backsliding on Tehrans part would anger both Brasil and Turkey, who have publically comitted to it, as such would deeply embarass the Turkish and Brasilian leadership. Iran is making great efforts to win hearts and minds in the developing world, and there is no way they would throw away the gains they have made. quoteJG May 18, 2010, 02:09 Actually, you are totally incorrect. Iran has not been deceiving the IAEA, and have provided all access as required under the terms of the NPT treaty they have signed and ratified. The IAEA has been making demands for which they have no legal right (like inspections of non-nuclear related facilities, or making demands for enrichment to cease) but have asked for nevertheless. Iran no doubt remembers the experiences of the Iraqis where IAEA "inspection teams" were riddled with US/UK intelligence agents tasked with espionage and target marking. Also, why would Iran forgoe enrichment of their own uranium in exchange for foreign supplies, when experience has taught them that foreign supplies can be cut off as part of political pressure campaigns? Would the UK or France agree to dismantle their own nuclear fuel industries just because Russia or China offer to provide the same for less? And as for Iran turning down nuclear technology ("new efficient reactors" as you claim) well that is just absurd. Please name the nation & nuclear energy companies who have made such offers, and the tech they have offered. The Iranians have gone for the Russian VVER as it was the only option available, and the VVER is a thoroughly modern PWR reactor that produces no more waste than comparable designs.
