?The article reads "Meanwhile, Egyptian security sources, which are reportedly constructing an underground barrier along its border with Gaza, said they have not been informed of Israel’s plans, said they would not object, so long as the barrier was built on Israeli territory." The Gaza strip is not Israeli territory, it's recognised by the international community and UN Security council as Israeli occupied territory, and therefore does not lie within the internationally recognised boundaries of Israel. Therefore, are we to presume that Egypt would have a problem with a wall in the Gaza strip? It reaffirms the truth that the Israeli government has no intention of granting freedom and fundamental rights to the palestinian people ever at any stage. The Berlin wall did not last forever, nor will any of Israel's seperation barriers. A paralell must be drawn between the Berlin wall, and also with apartheid South Africa. We must not be silent and must not give anybody immunity from criticism based on the gross injustices of the past.

I agree with Jsmith. Nothing in Isreal's actions suggest any recognition of the right of the palestinians to a State of Palestine. Western and Isreali Propaganda continuously accuse Hamas of not recognising Isreal's right to exist ,but in actual fact it is clear that neither Isreal nor the USA has fulfilled the two most important requirements for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, namely, relinquishing Violence and recognising Palestine as a state. The hypocricy is nauseating, more so with the complicity of the Egyptian rulers by this costly construction of the walls of 'death'. Zionism like apartheid will not hid the voice of reason from the UN and the rest of progressive Humanity .It bears grave resposibility for the continuig escalation of the ME crisis. Who is fooled by the anti -ilegal immigration ruse the Isreali Zionists are putting up as the justification for the walls?
