Of course we don't respect the western values of illegal invasions, colonialism, torture, rape, terrorism and subversion that are practiced daily by the west. Poland has played its merry part in this colonial western brutality riding the US and NATO ticket in the middle east. But what is becoming clear over time is that there are forces within Poland that want to return it to its troublesome, conflict ridden anti-Russian stance and politics. The very politics that contributed greatly to the last great conflict in Europe. Politicians undoubtedly play the cards that they feel will get them the best electoral traction, the opposition feel this card is the best for them at this moment. However, it is a dangerous game, because as history shows, Poland will not fair well to try to invoke a conflict east and west, for it will get swallowed again in the middle, with no doubt great cries again of innocence protested by them. In truth geopolitical games are beyond Poland's size, projection and capabilities, so they would be wise to realise it. Making a fire all around you, thinking you will remain a spectator, never is or has been a wise choice. This opposition though, is just opposition, what is more intersting for Russia is what the active government and general population will determine as their REAL policy and direction, for it is in their hands. But there are worrying signs; we see the current government signaling clearly that it doesn't follow the rule of law, but backslides into tribal interests. We also see them building military assets aimed at Russia. So in terms of deeds, we see little that amounts to anything that would give us credible belief that indeed the opposition is not in line with goverenment. Given this situation, the safest option is not to trust the Poles until the Polish people can resoundingly indicate which route they want to take. A route that is anti-Russian or one that is neutral. Until then we better be firmly on our guard!

What is shocking is that this rabid Russophobe occupies a high political position in Poland! The fact of the matter is that even as it speaks of a "reset" with Russia, the U.S also maintains a closer relationship with nations and leaders with overt Russophobia views. But Russia has faced a combined effort of the west many times before. Russia has defeated all of these unholy coalitions against it in the past and will do it again in the future.

It is evident Kaczynski doesn´t understand what the Capitalist system is about, what a Market Economy is about. Russia is the main market in Eastern Europe, with 141 million consumers with a middle income per head and increasing GDP, so for Polish or Ukrainian companies it is a great market they know well, and where they can sell their products. So, during the next decade the Russian and Polish economies be more integrated than never before. That what the logic of the Market Economy tell us. Kaczynski should forget his old Nationalist Socialism and accept that Poland is a market economy. Even the Chinese are pragmatist now, so they are going ahead with their development. Poland is the link between Russia and Germany, the same way as Russia is the link between Europe and China. The increasing integration between the Polish and Russian economies is unavoidable in a Market system. In fact, it is just at the beginning.

Someone wrote here, that J. Kaczynski should forget about his Nationalist Socialism. Dear God, how it is, that political imbecile, like Enrique, uses the terms, he absolutely doesn't understand? J. Kaczynski and his heroic late brother L. Kaczynski, were fighting communism their entire life. Both parents of the twins fought Nationalist Socialism by taking part in Warsaw Uprising. After the war, Poland was left alone by treacherous allies and suffered a lot from the hand of Russia. J. Kaczynski undestands this very well and he pleads for some loyalty, by the way not only for Poland, but also for other countries. As such, please do not talk about matters you don't have the slightest idea.

Kaczynski is a sorry warmonger, Russian hater who demands EU,US the big boys to rein in RF and give them money, weapons=power they think! Poland under his brother's lack of leadership, who weaved hatefulness, revenge, demanded US bases, weapons and personnel be put in Poland unpin the new leadership in the US,Prescient Obama.whom he 'told" must "honor" US W.Bush signed commitment SOFA, to put in his country,on RF border, US bases, weapons, personnel. He is as obnoxious and hateful as his late brother who would not have been reelected, hence, he would still be a looser without power or money demands on US. GET IT he wants US money, bases, weapons and personnel he think Poland deserves as payment for Poland's track record of horrific deeds regarding Russia. -- He is doing what his brother did "being a small thorn in the Chancellor of Germany's butt."And the US, today and always! He is hell bent on whatever he can do to see to it that Poland and Russia do have an abominable relationship in "trust" that is the most important. He wants not to agree on anything "unless its RF millions for them because they are Poland which is larcenous -- to use to undermine the RF.". This person need to be retire after a period of respect (one year) for a deceased brother, than kiss his A$$ hard when he starts this kind of hate-mongering and talks of war because little Poland is behind the trousers of US and EU.Poland will never change fortunately and its all about lack of power as a small backward country of hateful leaders and followers [voters]. ENOUGH don't have anything to do with them. Gas and Oil for cheap,"no." Tell them to get it from EU,US and ilk! Finally, PUT nukes and Islandes in Kaliningrad and forget about US Client State Poland! -- Putin in 2012. .

I agree with your comments (first 5) people..I will just add that I honesly hope that sooner than latter, Polish nation will reject this crazy call of some of their leaders...Road to peace, prosperity and security is possible for all! This road lead to future and not to the past! Russian nation for more that 1000 years been victim of (among others) the West. More than 50 wars was waged to wipe out Russia nation and stole Russian land just from West and all been lost! Ofcourse ,all of those "superpowers" pay with intrest...Mongols,Otomans,Europeans(France ,Germany,Sweden,Poland etc.-you name it)Japan and so on and on....All of them consider Russia quilty for their loos of Great Kingdoms ,despite historic true facts that they been quilty sides which started wars on Russian land! Stange judgment endeed,I must say!Anyway, Russia is peacefull as always and ready to mend friendship with anyone who like to live and let others to live in peace. For those who got a crazy ideas on their mind I sugest them to think 100 of times before calling for past times to come back...Any future war will be like no other from past-states and their nations will be gone forever without any chance to return on the world map.Russia is and always will be able to bury US,Nato and the rest of the world many times over in their 1 square m, mr Kaczynski...you NOTHING MAN from "new Europe"....Honest people will reject and resist your lunatic ideas becouse we see it all ! Lunatics like you cost Europe 100 plus millions of lifes in past history...and people like you can cost us everything what is left! People like you sir, shall not be in politics in any states whatsoever so just take pension and go-we will be gratefull for it........Thank you!

Yes, but don't leave out the part of before the war, when Poland was conspiring with the UK, France et al. to destroy the Soviet Union, via the Munich Pact, whilst at the same time enjoying a good feast on the Czechoslovakian's and a 'little bit' of Subversion in Chechneya. With 29 million dead as a result of this 'delightfull' behaviour, the Russian and wider Soviet people suffered immensely due to Polish actions. I suppose after this the SU was supposed to bring a Samova so we could all sit by, then smile, bury our dead and say thanks! Dream on! To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Now there is a new ton of evidence to support this!

Values of illegal invasions and colonialism: Does Georgia ring a bell, better still does 17th Sept remind you something? Torture, rape, terrorism and subversion, well how about asking Russian common people what they truly think about Buynaksk, Moscow, and Volgodonsk in 1999, Kursk sub incident in 2000 or children that died in Bieslan's school in 2004? How about those who cannot freely talk anymore, the deaths of Анна Степановна Политковская or Александр Вальтерович Литвиненко clearly fit into the bigger picture of Russian foreign policy. Still not convinced? Well let Russians speak for themselves: Алекса́ндр Иса́евич Солжени́цын, Юрий Безменов, Vladimir Volkoff, the list can go on and on but that is not the point. Maybe it's time to finally acknowledge the truth and introduce political pluralism so that economic status of Russian citizens can improve? That will not be an option until all of the Russian wealth remains centralised in the hand of Moscow and St Petersburg's oligarhs and their Swiss/Austrian bank accounts. Kaczynski clearly sees that, whats more, he not only sees how divorced Russian political class is from the daily struggles of the great Russian nation, but precisely points to the mechanisms that lead to such state of affairs. Rural Russia seems to be forgotten by everybody else. As Chesterton said "every nation has its soul and every soul has its secret, hence (...) some national virtues must always seem vices to the foreigner", with this in mind let's put prejudices aside and focus on the facts. Geopolitical games and the firm national stance are Poland's only ways of remaining its subjectivity and when "The Secret People" of Russia wake up, people who always remained silent and excluded - the common people, they will find Poland as their greatest ally. When the fear is gone, the truth will set both of our nations free.

only an old brainless being would want to resisst Russia, because "resistance is futile" :-) why is it bad to resist? Why is Russia better than the West ? It doesnt mask its interests by totalitarian "freedom and democracy" hypocrisy, like the EU and NATO does. It doesnt bring regime change by Soros n Co. It doesnt force anyone into anything by force and false flags to make itself the policeman of the world. It doesnt make a financial system to steal from the whole world. Russia is to last, while imperials come and go. The west has nothing , thus when stealing, needs to steal politically correctly... also, they hae an expertise in state destruction and conflict making, letting others fight while becoming stronger

Reality Bites Part II.....Only 2 of the EU's 115 diplomats are Polish...which doesn't give Poland much of a say in EU foreign policy...so "ssshhh " Kaczinsky...Poles are between 11% & 20% unemployed in Poland which means they have yet to taste any EU economic benefits whereas roughly half a million Polish migrants sweep up after Brits & Irish....Last I heard, the US/EU governments bailed out corrupt financial institutions and all their chief executive officers to the tune of several trillion dollars or Euros (depending on the exchange rate) and none of these CEOs were charged with any wrong-doing much less arrested......which make the Russian Oligarchs look like pick-pockets by comparison.....After being treated like that by the EU , I have to wonder why the Poles hate the Russians so much...

The Kaczynski brothers are grossly misunderstood by many for their lifelong fight against communists and corruption since the Solidarity movement in the 90s. Poland's interests were always a paramount of their political agenda. Being a lawyer, Jaroslaw Kaczynski has an overwhelming sense of justice which is supported by his Law and Justice party. Above all, he is a patriot of his nation and the Polish people will never fail to understand that. I don't think he is deliberately controversial or confrontational, he speaks out when others do not.

@ Count Cash - Although I believe many Poles are friendly to Russia, it is the politicians who decide where their country is heading. Unfortunately, the politicians are trying to play both fields and often times, as you pointed out, are igniting fire both east and west, hoping not to be burned in the process. I agree with you, it's a deadly dangerous game. Hope, troublemakers like Kaczynski leave soon and more pragmatic aproach prevails. @ Marek Kicinski - you are right, Russia and Poland have checkered history with many mutual grievances. It's time to move past that, don't you think? I actually like Enrique's comment, which is complimentary of Poland - he calls it the bridge between Russia and Germany, two among several most important countries in the world. Should it understand and accept it's role as a bridge, he says, it will benefit Poland greatly. Very reasonable argument. Whether Kaczynski is a socialist or not is unimportant semantics, what's important is - he is much disliked and distrusted both in Europe & Russia. @Svetlana - read another one of your hilarious comments. Of course, Kaczynski's deliberately confrontational. That's the only way he can keep himself in the headlines. Otherwise he'll be irrelavant fast. Real leaders work quietly and accomplish a lot. He yells a lot and accomplishes nothing.

It seems to me as if this Kaczynski individual is completely insane!! Is he expecting Russia to close into herself and to voluntarily remain self-paralized while NATO will have fully finished the encirclement? That is a way to childish point of view. I can understand Kaczynski and the Polish people because they know all too well they can be important for the west only when the west is heavily oposed to Russia. That is a traditional sensitivity among the Polish people throughout the whole of their history: to act as defenders of the western civilization against eastern "barbarians". However, the west (and NATO) have arrived onto a conclussion that it is better to have a big player, Russia, as ally, for otherwise the most that they can get in return is to have such smaller countries (Poland) as friends. The west surely possesses a potential to make Russia a friend (partner, ally) and it accordingly does so. That is a simple mathematics. Having some bitter feelings because of the reduced importance of Poland in the eyes of the most important western countries is a sort of an old-fashioned attitude. A careful examination of the subject would however uncover that the Polish people may well have a huge benefit from this "reset" relations between the west and Russia. The Poles must only learn how to get rid of their Rusophobic ideology.

Larisa, Jaroslaw Kaczynski merely said to resist "Russia's aspirations to extend its zone of influence". Emotions aside, what does it mean for those post-Soviet block countries that have been affected by Russian meat and milk ban, the gas wars, the Russian elite bidders to acquire oil refineries? Add to that your list of 'unwanted' leaders that are difficult and confrontational and we may forget about any "reset" intended. Both Poland and Russia have to take a mile further in accommodating their interests as sovereign countries.

To Maple leaf....Katyn was a pay off for Poland killing 10000 Russian prisoners- just 30 years before Katyn-Smolensk.Also Polish army march with Germany Nazy to take small part of land from Checkoslovakia...Latter Germany turn on Poland to.Thats how it was...In my comment I did say that Russia was a victim (among others) of Western invasions...History book never lies and true facts are here,so do research. You will be suprised when you find that first wars West started attacking Russia with one simple plan:to kill them all(if possible) or to push them in Asia(over mountain Ural)and stole European part of Russia(today in this part live 110 milions of Russians)...More over, it was one way traffic for 100 of years. So, for first 100 of years Russian nation and Russian land was victim and target ....So, do research! Ofcourse, Russians never forget and never forgive their love ones who die on Russian land from the hands of Barbarians from West so they latter on deliver a bill with intrest...Thats why now "superpowers and Great kingdoms" become a small pond with to many hungry crocs...There is some things which I believe that Russians also past a"red" line latter, but when I think carefuly how they been constantly under attack on their land with only one goal-to complete wipe them out as a nation from this planet....If we looking for justice here, that will be to do at least the same thing what was a their "fate"....It's strange that in this "democratic and civilized Europe" still politicians ride to public offices on agressive and suicide ideologies from past.Crazy but true...Maple Leaf,Russian small baby bear survive(once was attacked from all 4 sides at once but win and survive) and grow up to become today the most dangerous animal on this planet...It will remain so becouse it must! It's peacefull, unless attacked ,provoked or poked in eye-it will not react... If this rule can be valid for others, then I will say peace will last forever....Thank you.

Anti-Russians always try to perpetuate two frauds, the first is that Russia is the Soviet Union, the second is that Russia's or the Soviets Union's reaction to any hostile act should be regarded as the prime first act. In other words no matter how Russia is provoked, through illegal acts, it should always be seen as the villain. Basically a system of international laws, has evolved over time, to try to prevent the sorts of vast human suffering seen in WW2. However, whilst most nations accept these laws and have a progressive vector, the west does not, and has an illegal vector. It is the west that is illegally invading, torturing and raping the Afghans and Iraqis. The west are the ones who are contemperaneosly carrying out illegal colonial practices for resources and geopolitical advantage. Whilst in contrast Russia is continually developing and insisting on the maintenance of the principles of the rule of law established post WW2. So Russia is standing by the rule of law internationally, whilst the west is a blatant criminal. Historically the west has had a consistancy in its core colonialistic values, there has been no break, indeed the foundation of the likes of north American countries, Australia and New Zealand are based on the core values of colonialism from the Europeans. Indeed the western attrocities in Afghansitan and Iraq follow the same track. The west always seeks to contain Russia illegitimately, be that through the use of terrorism, subversion, the Nazis, British naval power..... The game has always been to start illegal activities, to create circumstances of provokation, then cry that Russia or the SU is aggressive when it reacts, this has been the game through history, whether it is the Munich pact, Western agents in Chechneya, electronic shadowing of commercial aircraft, NATO backed killing in South Ossetia, western arming and training for the killing of school children.... the list goes on and on.
