Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is in Afghanistan for one-day consultations setting the stage for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) special conference on Afghanistan, scheduled to be held on March 27 in Moscow.

Americans have many big problems in Afghanistan, and one of them is the political instability of Hamid Karzai's government. Surely, he has been cooperative with Americans, and according to the news, he sees Russians as allies. However, Afghanistan solution is going to require more than just cooperation with Afghan regime. The rising instability and violence in Afghanistan shows that the problems have only just begun.
