According to the Central Election Commission, the Moldovan Communist Party did win the parliamentary election with nearly 50% of the vote.
On Thursday Kyrgyzstan goes to the polls to elect the next president. Current leader Kurmanbek Bakiyev is strongly tipped to win a second term, but his main rival from the socialist party is being given a chance.
Initial results in Moldova's parliamentary election suggest the Communist party could lose its majority, if the opposition manages to form a coalition.
Moldova’s parliament has failed to elect a president after the opposition refused to support the sole presidential candidate Marian Lupu. Thus, the political crisis in the eastern European country is going to continue.
