I applaud the cooperation between Russia and Germany two country's I have had a considerable pleasure spending some time in. I caution a word of warming for Medvedev! The last time the Russians had a pack with Germany was the Ribbentrop pact. it is not wise for Medvedev to totally take the German side say for example Iran. It is dangerous for Russia to think itself upper civilized and to take the EU view wholeheartedly. Russia must and almost must align with its best interests which is the middle east and Asia. It cannot afford to dwell on European life as a mantle of its culture and civility. If that happens it will be double crossed just like WW2. Russia must not trust anyone specially the US and EU for the assassins have it, traditionally in for Russia. I love Putin for many things, but am highly suspicious that Medvedev's ego, thinking himself as prince of the European Court will derail Russia place in the world as a great power.
