Indeed, show no mercy! I my opinion Russia shall move FSB personel and Army units on permanent bases, in all 3 republics on a grand scale and to stay there forever! Bring lattest modern tehnology(special night vision to comb those in woods-24/7)and CHANGE RULE of fighting those terrorist till the last one is hunt down. Many of innorcent policeman die(and soldiers)performing verry simple tasks! Awareness must be lift on maximum possible level and put in practice,to fit reality on the ground-it cost lives. If it must be(no other way around)complete close borders of those republics. One thing I know for sure(as mr.Medvedev said),you have to do everithing possible to stop them THERE and win, before it spread to your heartland. In the end, you got only this option on table,so make it work(you must).Thanke you and I wish you all the best...

Can anyone show or tell me what a terrorist looks like? I thought so. If you have a suspect, you only have an assumption. If you catch him or she in the act, than you have a FACT. The fact, being the terrorist. Use the village and town people to catch these murdering thugs. The presence of military mite will slow down the terrorist activities, but only for a short time. The towns people know who belongs in their town and who dosent. This is a good begining to hopefully come to a cowardly and murdering end. I say, show no mercy.

I'm according to Zak , Russia must demonstrate such firmness and no mercy but must developed and apply special equipment and especially trained agents to avoid great economical costs that could be a factor of internal destabilization

The fact that the US, Britain. Israel and Georgia are running the largest international terrorist training camp in the Panski Gorge is not brought up or even made a factor. And the fact last year we know from info captured by the FSB in the August war last year Georgian intelligence with is a branch of British, Israeli and US intelligence were recruiting and planned co-ordinated attacks terror attacks in Russia’s South in Ingushetia. Bomb there sanctuary and that would make a huge impact on there terror network. The first thing Russia can do is admit that foreign powers and intelligence agencies are sponsoring and co-ordinating terrorist attacks in Russia. List there foreign Saudi, Turkish, Moroccan, US, British, financiers, PR networks, organised crime networks and foreign bank accounts. They could start with 9/11 the fact that the hijackers were recruited to fight in Chechnya, there NGO's they work through and there connection to various western and other intelligence agencies. Just like they did to the Serbs in Yugoslavia. http://de-construct.net/e-zine/?p=7163 In fact it is the exact same people and network.

I don't understand who the terrorists are or why they are attacking Russians. My understanding of that region is limited so I read the information with an interest to grasp the impact of what is happening. Thanks

This sounds like the biggest excuse to kill people ever, but I'm assuming that since 1/3 of their country is rural, they know who belongs and who doesn't, so I guess it works. It would be kind of difficult if they weren't caught in the act though. Russia has a horrible level of poverty, which inspires some unfortunately, and they've got woods. It's got to stink over there. Lots of danger everywhere. I guess I see why see and shoot must be. Also, I guess it's an example to the rest. Don't be a terrorist - or even look like one. Criminals don't seem to be the celebrities there, so they don't reproduce as quickly.

The President is correct. He and Vladimir Putin are the only politicians in the so called modern world who have the balls to say enough is enough and will deal with the situation as it is presented to them instead of kissing the feet of others. England is used not as a training gound but as a recruiting ground and a facility for rest and recouperation. The English authorities haven't the balls to deal with terrorists as they ought to be dealt with. CW SMALLWOOD - answer the question - how do you know what a sex offender looks like? When you find that answer then you will find the answer to your question

I hope Russia is not dumb to believe that the U.S will stop the covert terrorist attacks against the Russian government. Just like the U.S supported the Iran contras and the rebels in Nicaragua in the early 1970s. The FSB needs to find these terrorist training camps and bomb the thing like a roache's nest. Oh also, I've seen pictures of Medvedev at the G20 summit. He looks very optimistic. That is good. I do not expect Barack Obama to bring any good from the summit, but it seems that Medvedev is just teeming to get something done.
