Bridget Austin, a high-ranking NATO official, will be advisor to Valentin Nalivaichenko, the head of Ukraine’s national security service.
The expert, who had a career with the British secret services, will help the Ukrainian organization with issues of public control, reports the Ukrainian News information agency.
Nalivaichenko announced the news at a conference dedicated to human rights and democratic values in security organizations. He didn’t explain why the position wasn’t offered to a human rights activist, rather than a security veteran.
The news didn’t come unexpectedly though. The idea of opening an office with this job description was voiced a year ago, points out the lenta.ru news website. Back then, Ukrainian security wanted “a competent NATO expert” to take it over.

Did Election Day Test South Africa’s Claim of Democracy? The quality of South Africa’s democracy has been a hot topic lately. If Wednesday’s election process was to be the determining factor, the verdict is in. |
More NATO Anti-Russian terrorist and insurgency training, for the NATO front line, in conjunction, with the same training being given in Georgia -no surprise there. Not a real problem, as long as we make NATO fully and directly accountable militarily for the actions that these actors are being trained to, and are planned to undertake in Russia. Simply message, NATO won't be able to hide behind unmarked proxys. We neend to call a spade a spade and show to the world community that NATO was, is, and will always be directly practicing terrorism and insurgency on sovereign states.

Ha ha, my dear friend I like the sentiment and optimism in your words. I spent last Friday debating with my Russian friends about this. Being a Serb and having experienced the true uncovered face of NATO and democratic world, I can tell you one thing: there is no such thing as calling a spade a spade. There is only one thing: Nato calling whatever it wants to call. Your words show the biggest mistake of all Slavs, Russians, Serbs and others and that is their believe in justice. Wake up and realise the only justice which exists in Europe and USA is the justice of their agenda. Nato did, does and will do whatever they want to and their media will support them without any reservations. 90% of population in west still believes that Russia was the main aggressor who fired the first bullet in recent conflict with Georgia despite all the reports which came later declaring Georgia as main responsible. Holding Nato, UK or USA accountable for their actions is utopia, I guarantee you this. Nato will continue pursuing its main goal which is conquering of natural resources on Russian soil. It will not stop, whichever president is ruling USA, whatever they promise, whatever they say, they won't stop.
