John Laughland, the Director of Studies from the Institute of Democracy and Cooperation, has said that the United States would never allow the Russia-backed European military agreement to undermine NATO.
The Russian proposal must and will be discussed. The world wants peace --not war.
I would love to agree with you Peter, but the deeds of the past dont make me as optimistic.
Nato is very week now and it will be weeker when US will come back home from Afghanistan. Europe is waiting this event with a feeling of liberation. I hope however that the treaty will be a reality as soon as possible.
I agree, the only thing standing in the way of Russia reasserting her privileged sphere of influence is NATO. The new Russian security treaty is necessary for this task.
The difference between New Russian Security Treaty & NATO is that this New Treaty gives Europe complete freedom and independence, while US dominated NATO Security Treaty controls and enslaves Europe. Everyone knows this as Europeans are not stupid and when the time is right--with Lisbon Treaty in full force—replacing NATO is inevitable.
