“North Korean issue looks like a deadlock”A North Korean train carrying a long-range missile has allegedly arrived at a launch base in the northwest of the country. The South Korean military has confirmed this development. |
I agree with the comment made by jusanto93 about the US involvement the US doesn't have the power to fight the North Koreans on the ground because there commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan so the only way is using the Air Force but I dont see this happening because the Chinese will, I think will make some decisions the right decisions to stop a war near there borders and I also agree if the North Koreans use nuclear weapon against it's neighbor they will pay the same way I dont know who is going to do this but seems to me that China is going to take some action in this matter is a lot in stake,a lot people who will pay the price innocent people so this is in the hands of the Chinese government I hope that China will pay attention to this seriously they have a lot of leverage with the North Koreans they supplied everything to Koreans, also the world can't afford another war we have enough wars already going on in the planet already we need some kind of peace in this planet so I hope the Chinese government will make a wise decision I tackle this problem in the right way.

Far from being aware of the likely outcome, I think the North Korean leadership is so out of touch with reality that they may just do something really stupid. Whilst the US has not got the available resources to fight North Korea on the ground (because of their commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan), their naval and air power is barely used at present. If North Korea uses any kind of WMD against South Korea or Japan, it is safe to assume that the US would launch an ernormous counter attack against North Korea from the air - much like the opening of Gulf War 1. The trouble is, it seems that the North Korean government isn't listening to anyone - not even the Chinese. Word, I totally agree with you, the North Koreans wont even listen to their mothers. North Korea only wants attention and wants to be seen as a bully to other countries for example North Korea and i put myself in the spot the South Koreans are of being capable of being attack in any second and i feel it will be catastrophic if North Korea starts a war , and in my opinion if i was the president of the United States i will destroy their satellite if they dare to put another nations in danger and boycott every single contact to the world and sit them watch fall.

This talk of the North Korean government being "out of touch" makes no sense. The North is developing nukes and missiles for a single reason - as a deterrent against US attack. Kim Jong-Il is well aware that if he were to attack the South (or Japan) with nukes, his regime would be finished, and he is not about to lauch unprovoked attacks against his neighbours. Any talk to that effect is nothing more than scare-mongering. No-one seems to be too interested in looking at plausible reasons for the North's actions. Maybe they have concluded that the US is simply not trustworthy and that only nukes will give them the security guarantees they want. After all, the US has consistently reneged on its obligations under the various agreements, and Kim has little reason to trust that things will change under Obama.
