Moscow City Hall has for the first time permitted 800 civil rights activists to gather on their “favorite square,” but some of the organizers say the number allowed is too low.
I am hoping an RT contributor can enlighten me on the nature of the protests by this group. For a while, I cannot get any real sense of what exactly they are for, or what are they protesting against. I know that they are protesting their rights to protest, any location any time. Now, I do not know any country on earth that allows protestors to stop traffic, use unsafe locations, present a danger to themselves and others or insist on protesting on a construction site. And permit is required, whichever way you look at it. And here in US, protestors need to insure that they collect their own garbage the best way they can. But besides that, protestors are usually about an issue. A war, taxes, laws that hurt somebody. Perhaps I do not know enough about this opposition to do them justice, but thus far, I have never heard them utter one word on the issue they are representing, or consituency they are supporting.
The Moscow authorities are unfair to limit the number of protesters, especially since the rally organizers can never know how many people will turn up. And Russia is a massive country with many people, 800 is ridiculous.

If the people want to say something in a protesting way, why 800 shouldn't be civilized-enough? Otherwise what would be the representing number of the entire population?
