Soviet soldiers in the Battle of Stalingrad

“There’s possibly some guilt [for the invasion of Poland] on the Russian side and on the British and French side, but in general it’s definitely Germany,” Reinhard Krumm, an expert on Eastern European history, told RT.

We have all been assured over the decades that Germany is the only and exclusive culprit for the WWII. However, that point of view has been put forward from those who actually won the war, but had the Germany won we would have been learning quite a different history. It is not strange that Mr Krumm is ready to accept almost the whole guilt since the today's Germans are probably a bit brainwashed as to the main cause of WWII. My opinion is that Germany is far less guilty than we have been told and, consequently, the others responsibility is possibly greater. However, Germany IS responsible for mass murdering of Russian POWs, Holocaust of Jews (it matters a little was it a 6-million holocaust or less than that, e.g. 4-million, but throwing thousands of, say, 9 year old children in burning stoves is surely a crime), civilians from many eastern countries, etc. A present trend to rewrite history will surely bring many new facts and new views on WWII. Just to mention two well known facts: 1) President Roosevelt did everything he could to provoke Japan to strike first as he knew it was the only way to overcome American isolationism that was a prevailing sensitivity in US at the time (he knew of course the war will boost the US economy) - that raises a question of US responsibility for the outbreak of WWII. 2) The anglosaxons (US and UK) are only now ready to admit that USSR alone would have probably defeated Nazi Germany, and they flatly say they haven't been ready to admit that so far for the cold war reasons. I sense that we are going to learn many new facts in the near future about the WWII, its real causes, and about the post-war history.

In one book from Stalin period 1948-1950, it was described who was really to blame for the war ! Just Banks ! No one else ! After 50 years I see that's the only true explanation ! yours Aleks

The winners {if there are any} of wars always get to write the history of the war as they see fit. A totally defeated country doen't have much clout. History tells us that we must remember history to prevent the mistakes of the past but politicians seldom look back. They just sort of move whereever the wind blows and if they are wrong they try to put the blame on someone else..

It`s the Russian "Ministry of Truth" at it again? "Poland was never invaded by USSR. WW2 started in 1940. Katyn never happened. Gulags didn`t exist. Stalin was a God-sent saint on earth. Life is much better now!"

Let's start at the beginning. When President Woodrow Wilson got America into WW1, and instigated the Versailles Treaty, he was guaranteeing WW11. England and France owed America 5 billion dollars, a huge sum then. they said to Wilson help us os we won't be able pay you. They never did anyway. America was in a depression in the 30's. FDR saw the war in Europe as a way out. He commited actions guaranteeing Japan would invade as well. Study history and you'll find America's footprint in practically all the wars. If we had stayed out of WW1, who knows what would of happened. You can't be quick to judge Germany.
