December 15 in Russia is a mourning day for journalists murdered for doing their job – spreading information. The date has been remembered in the country since 1991, to highlight the dangers of working in the industry.
Friends, colleagues and family of Anna Politkovskaya, a Russian journalist killed in 2006, have presented her book. It includes her works both published and incomplete, people's memories of her, reactions to her death.
A new body has been created to oversee the investigation of complicated criminal cases, and corruption by politicians and public servants. Russia's Investigation Committee is a branch of the Prosecutor's Office.
A Moscow court has issued arrest warrants for the ten people already being held in connection with the killing of Russian journalist – Anna Politkovskaya.
