Only serious geopolitical shifts in the region may change the situation with the Transdniester Republic, analysts believe.
As usual the West will employ the usual double-standard. When a republic or a population within Russia wants to secede from Russian they get the full backing/support from the U.S. and the rest of the world. The justification is that people vote, have a referendum they have a right to determine the future of their territory, their destiny. It is right, it is a good thing. However when a people want to unify with Russia, and the vote to do so is unanimous, it is wrong, it cannot be allowed to happen.
Transnistria should join Ukraine or Russia and Moldova join Romania. Happy end for everybody.

Let Transnistria be independent, or join Ukraine, or join Russia, whatever... And the rest of Moldova join EU and Romania and forget the issue. A good and easy solution.
