ROAR: Moscow expects “less hysterical” dialog with new Ukrainian president

As the situation is expected to change soon in relations between Russia and Ukraine, new ambassador Mikhail Zurabov has arrived to Kiev five months after he was appointed.

What a comical statement "The political system in Ukraine “is becoming increasingly stable" - I suppose this is based on 300 thugs breaking into the ballot printing place. If this is stable what is unstable? The truth is that Ukraine is very volatile, there are two distinct camps, one of which is not politically mature (read that as the DVD sales lady). Yes any of them would be better than Yushchenko for Russia, but don't fool yourselves that the situation will be much better. There is going to be political fighting and disruption after this election whichever way it goes. We may be able to gain some advantages along the way, but on the whole, a stable Ukraine, which is in our broadest interest, may not come about. This is a pity for both us and the Ukrainian people. There is much western damage, deliberately inflicted on Ukraine to overhaul.
