As the average sum of a bribe increases, the police have stepped up efforts in fighting high-level corrupt officials, analysts say.
I wonder if some of those analysts are right, that the size of bribes increases as the number drops? We will see if the numbers really are dropping - it could be another year or two before anybody will know for sure. This whole controversy is probably good for the anti-corruption campaign. Let everything be discussed out in the open, because bribe takers like the cover of darkness. The more that corrupt officials are brought out into the open, the higher chance there will be of changing public perception that "everybody does it".
