After years of extremely tense relations, Russia and Poland are now seeking cooperation. Political analyst Irina Kobrinskaya shared her views with RT on the thorny path of the two states from ice age to the current thaw.

"Military experts say that a joint missile defense system would be very instrumental in overcoming distrust and leaving behind the Cold War legacy."Wouldn't NOT having a missile defense system at all go further towards building trust and overcoming the cold war legacy? What trust is there when one side wants to build a missile defense system against the protests of the other? If NATO and Russia really want peace and cooperation, then why bother with a missile defense system at all? That's like pointing a gun at someone and then asking them "Will you be my friend?"It's time to evolve. Scrap these missile defense systems and save that money. True security comes not from guns and ammo, but from having good relations with nations, especially your neighbors!Unless certain parties Do want tension and violence…..
