Hopefully, they have also discussed the public health crisis of enourmous consequences --- the drugs influx from Afghanistan and the alarming spread of drug addiction accross Central Asia and Russia. This is a first class crisis, and requires much more then some low level border interdiction. This requires a highest level intelligence, and military infrastructure on the border. One cannot fight this menace with ordinary procedures used for any other smuggling. The problem with drugs transport and trade is that it involves corruption, often in very high places. Russia and Central Asian Republics may have to make some tough decisions to use their intelligence operations to get to the root of corruption that enables these poisons to spread. If Russia and others do not understand the nature of this public health disaster, they can be in a deep, deep trouble. And some people in Russia and the Central Asian Republics are making a lots of money from these poisons, thinking nothing of their new generations. But once the drug money makes its way into the military and the intelligence, there will be nothing left for politicians to do but talk. While millions of their children are being poisoned.
