Mr. Lavro, you are a decent politician and the peaceful people around the world and especially Syrians appreciate your efforts. Unfortunately though, the West and its Arab allies have decided to topple the Syrian government and install a puppet regime there. I hope that you Russia will not let that happen this time.

Why? has Mr. Lavrov forgotten how the same nations reinterpreted “the no-fly Zone” UNSC resolution in Libya? Did he not remember the infamous lies that Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction told to the entire world at the UNSC by the United States? Is Mr. Lavrov truly surprised or is he being diplomatic? And Will Russia now end its mission in Syria because the imperialists want only and only regime change in Syria and nothing else? We need a firm answer because Russia ( with the strategic help of China) is our only hope. Mark my words if Russia fails to resist in Syria these anrgy and massed revolutionary reactionary radical Islam and the Western imperialism will show reemerge in the North Caucasus very soon after that in Moscow itself right after that. Decide to fight now and when it will be too late.

I dont think its good what Russia wants to do.Maybe they just saying it but i think they should just say that assad is commited to peace and in the meantime they should crush all opposition killed them all and hang them in public square and write on them traitors and stick some dollars on them and some turkish money or wathever.I dont see how Assad is going to last if they reach a deal. This in the future will have reppercusions maybe Syria split. The only way of getting away i know might sound strange to some people :) but they(Assad) should pay some millitary(of theyre own) and kill his own family and blame it on the armed terrorist cause no one would say that he done it.That should give him Reason and all nation would turn against the armed group :) If he really want to hold to power there are many scenarios but again not everyone is like this ,well appart from Cheney kisinger bush powel brezinski etc they do anything for hold of power :)

Their move is clearly well pre-calculate to undermine his efforts, and no matter how brilliantly he may cement it they [the west] will instigate and encourage the insurgency. I am sure the moment he goes out of there they will start again seeking their full-go-ahead bombarding - could be the only reasonable explanation why they pull out their ambassadors. They did on the Balkans, S Ossetia, Libya, etc, for them is well rehearsed scenario. Unless Assad declares temporary military-rule and clean them all out. Very difficult position for Syria because of the neighbourhood. The only thing can stop them if Russia and China seriously threaten them to take economic and even military actions if they dare attack Syria. If they attack surely the ME will inflame in a war - it might be even the beginning of the WWIII.

Hey Russia, you wanted to lead in Syria so I suggest you start on it and stop the blaming games, nothing constructive will happen. Stop the killing in Syria Russia..you wanted this you better get to work and stop it then. No excuses now, get to work. Let's see the mighty Russia flex it's peace muscle and get this done. I want to see the killing stop, I can support Russia here if they actually do something.

Get to work Lavrov
Stop crying about your western counterparts and get to work....now! Homs is gonna be destroyed before you do anything???

@nobliss! Yes it is quite funny that most Russians are clicking thumbs up on comments where some people call for war against the US and the west but nothing coming from the western side. As my username suggest I come from the west and no one here in Norway thinks Russia is to be taken serious because everything they want is that their naval base is to be secure and its weapons are supplied to Assad. Most Russians have apparently forgotten that they where the ones who lost most people during ww2 and apparently so many are calling for as you a third world war a truly aggressive people. They call our politicians for warmongers but I guess it is different growing up in a country where you are "taught that the west is the enemy and we need to stop everything they do" compared to growing up in a country that promotes peace, justice, human rights and most important freedom and freedom of speech.

Stop lying, Nobliss.....You & your NATO friends don't want to see the killing stop. That is why the ambassadors left, so that there would no more conversation between NATO & Syrian authorities...Lavrov can't have a 'negotiation' if there is no other party...

Part II Isolate Syria & destroy the Syrian economy so that the Syrian people suffer

Part III Implement NATO subversion plan; build up rebels & wage propaganda war & civil war of attrition....

Part IV Under constant duress Syrian government collapses

Part V Turkey NATO forces deliver Syria to NATO & Arab League

Just watch all this happen just like I'm saying it will...

We don't want the ww3! We just want to stop an intervention of the US to the other countries.  The goal is not to help people! May be it's better for you, Nobliss, to remember the history of the war in Vietnam, or something about Ecvador, Iran, Libia, Jugoslavia...Russia is not an ideal as though as  the US.But all people should understand, that the WW3 means the end of everything.

@Norway....or should I say VIDKUN QUISLING (famous Nazi collaborator) He was all about peace, justice etc., too...wasn't he? What makes collaborating with NATO any different?

As for who's more aggressive, Norway or Russia...Let's see. Norway has been a part of NATO for around 50 years....In those 50 years NATO attacked around 50 sovereign nations, destroying many of them. How many of those conflicts was Norway a part of?...Norway Armed Forces now occupy:

1.Chad

2. Somalia

3. Afghanistan

4. Iraq (stabbed US in back & ran away)

5. Kosovo

6. Bosnia ( I know I'm missing a few former Yugoslavian republics that Norway helped NATO destroy)

How many countries does Russia now occupy with overwhelming force, as compared to Norway/NATO collaborationist armed forces you hypocrite?

@The thing is that the “mighty” US have NEVER yet dared confront another mighty but gathers the heard of hyenas and than dastardly attacks. Take Serbia as an example; “the mighty” ONLY bombed and didn’t dare set a single boot on ground confronting the tough Serbs thus “the mighty” cowards knew well will be eaten for a breakfast ;)

@Larry! First of all Vidkun Quisling was a traitor the Norwegian people and to my country. Nazism and NATO have nothing in common with each other. Secondly Norway is in Afghanistan because the US was attacked on 11th september 2001 and "Article V of the Washington treaty" states that "an attack on one of the member states in NATO is to be considered as an attack on all members of the alliance". Norway has today no soldiers in Chad and actually never had any, only a military hospital under mandate by the UN. Norway has never had any troops in Somalia, Norway has a 3 officers in Kosovo. You have no clue on anything my country does!... And now over to what Russia has been involved in the last 50 years! The Soviet Union invaded Hungary in 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1968, troops stationed in East-Germany, Poland and numerous other Eastern-European states, invasion of Afghanistan with a ten year occupation resulting in the deaths of between 1-2million Afghans, then after the Soviet Union Russia massacred thousands in Chechnya twice and then invaded Georgia in 2008. The only real war Norway has been a part of since ww2 is the one in Afghanistan, other then that it has only held minor roles such as medical aid for our allies, during the Korean war, Vietnam war and the Gulf war!
