The ambitious Nabucco pipeline project intended to pump Central Asian natural gas to Europe bypassing Russia has been excluded from EU’s priority projects, a source in the EU’s Council of Ministers said on Tuesday.

Gazprom has tightened its grip on Europe's gas supply after Rome agreed to extend the vast Blue Stream pipeline to Italy, as Italian Economy Minister Claudio Scajola flagged likely routes.
The new gas producers organization has appointed Russian Leonid Bokhanovsky to the secretary generals position, expecting Russia to use its political influence. Energy Minister Shmatko says that faith will be repaid.
Rich in natural resources, the Arctic is becoming an increasingly attractive region for business. One of the ways to master the resource base is to revive the Northern Sea Route for shipping.
