Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovich has signed a decree that cancels the country’s previous plans to join the North Atlantic alliance.
This is a true polititian and a President who first thinks of its people and what they will eat at their dinner table and only then politics.
I hope that myth and urban legend about ecconomic boom and fast development for new NATO member states will be crushed in Ukraine, when Russia will help to invest and develope it`s neighbours.
This does not mean that the US will cease efforts to eventually suck Ukraine into NATO. Something might "happen" to Viktor Yanukovich, and the US will be right back to undermining Ukrainian independence.

Just like something "happened" to Viktor Yushchenko face (I'll give you a hint, it wasn't an out break of acne)... but really I could care less about that.... politics, like always, is dirrrrrty What caught my attention in the article was this line: "the document deals with the language issue in the country and indemnifies Russian and other non-state languages of national minorities residing in Ukraine." So will this mean that the ethnic Carpathio Rusyns (who are recognized as their own everywhere else they reside) will finally be acknowledged as their own ethnic group, or is Ukraine still pretending they don't exist?
The Slavic people of Eastern Europe have had to endure much hardship in the past which was engineered from elsewhere so I hope that they will not allow themselves to be divided by allowing things such as NATO and foreign religions to have too much influence.
Great! Looks like Russia is a friend again. Does it mean, I am allowed to speak Russian in Ukraine? Oh, joy! I might even move back in. Not really.

What a wonderful news to be heard ! All congretulations to Mr Yanukhivich. A bow with highest sympathies to the whole of Ukrainean people.
