Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin delivered speeches on Saturday at a congress of the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, which took place in St Petersburg.
Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it, and then some.
I want it all! I want it all! A life without a wish, a dream, is but a bare existence, but a wish is not a wish at all, when you hold it in your palms. So reach out and do your toils, ever thoughtful of the chains that bind. Then your future will evolve with wisdom and not blind.

Certainly United Russia will change over time as the political landscape of Russia changes itself. A wider debate will happen, allowing a constantly increasing stream of ideas for ourselves as a people to harness going forward. The strength of Russia will be enhanced by capturing the great talent of ideas we have in Russia, these ideas lay inside and outside of political parties, indeed some of the best ideas come from those not politically active at all. However, the will of the people is key in all this, we do not want to fall into the western sham democracies, where two parties are offered, like boxers in a ring, for show to the general public, whilst every thing is controlled by a banking elite, working against the people, who own the boxers. So Russia must learn from this and build a true democracy, one with financial lobbying dealt with by criminal sanction, one that has complete separation of powers of large scale individual capital and the state organs. We need treat every one as equal before the state in terms of their political weight. Russia must move past the 'owned' two party con trick, it must move to multi party contest, where ideas and concepts are contested, for the people to decide, without them being 'worked' through the system, hidden in the pouches of one of the two well paid parties, like in the west. We have a huge opportunity to learn from the failure of democracy in the west, which leaves electorates, dissilusioned, knowing they are powerless and controlled by about 30% of the population, who have in turn been bought by direct benefits following the plan by the ruling banking elite. So key things for Russian democracy, is that United Russia, lays the foundations to stop lobbying and career politics, stops direct benefits as a means of mass control, which is the European sham democracy way, limits party funding to state levels, and allows multi party access to the media, which is not allowed in the west in reality.
