US rhetoric on Iran and its efforts to involve Russia is a “dangerous precedent” that may indicate that Washington is seeking a pretext to launch a war, career diplomat Dmitry Ryurikov has told RT.
I have found this article very interesting as it has been a major concern of mine for a number of years what has been, mainly caused by western powers, I used to believe it was over oil but now believe it could be more sinister h
America is famous for false flag attacks historically-however economic conditions and public unrest may be the motivation to launch another military adventure. Western cultures and societies cannot function or even survive without large amounts of petroleum. Risking so much to control Iran's oil fields may be perceived as the only way to save Capitalism. Americans won't complain if others do the fighting and material wealth and consumer culture prospers as a result. Capitalists countries have resorted to wars to increase their wealth and reestablish control over their society. If Iran is attacked it is a dangerous escalation whose consequences cannot be predicted. What can be predicted is the Russians, having reneged on the sale agreed to in 2007 to provide defensive arms, will be identified as just another country who green lighted this operation. If the Iranian natural gas fields and infrastructure were destroyed or seriously damaged only Russia would be the source for European customers. While short term interests, or complicated chess moves may be involved the reputation of Russia will be seriously damaged in the eyes of the world. The emerging BRIC nations had included Russia as an important player in the new world economic order. Their unification was a counter balance to the Americans rampaging all over the plane and the old world order. Russia, at least publicly has removed itself from this group's shared interests. Then there are people of color like myself, who have learned that the people of the fairest skin always unite when confronted with their darker skin brothers. Israel clearly seems to want to destroy the world, and use dupes to do their dirty work. America is getting ready to put all their chips in the middle of the table. Russia is going to back up their bet and live with the consequences. Like Russia, here in America we have absolutely no control or say as to what our government does. Now you all have a good Mayan doomsday.
consequences beyond your imagination and beyound your control.
Wow. Medvedev selling out Iran again. The main question in the article was "why does Medvedev sign the documents to Implement Resolution 1929 at such a short time after Iran's Prime Minister made his speech?" Most Russian's know that the Eagle is just waiting to pick those Russian bones: right of that bear carcass. Is Russia not slowly becoming encircled by NATO.
The US has long sought for a war against Iran, just to install another puppet regime. The Iranians have already had one puppet, the Shah, they got rid of him and they don't want another. The US want to destroy Iran because it is a thorn in their idea of hegemony in that area of the world. Iran is a stable country and also a regional power. Given the state of the economy of the US and the continued failing of its economy and finances it is only 8 months away from economic catastrophe, any war that they attempt would be doomed from the start as they do not have the finances. They are acutely aware of this, and their latest methods of creating finances is by selling vast quantities of weapons to neighboring states around Iran. It will bring a purported 77000 new jobs for Americans. Rather an odd way to prop up a failing economy. It is designed to create future incidents in the region as a way to attack Iran. Either way they are playing with fire and those who play with fire inevitably get burnt.
What made you think the US economy is going to go catastrophic in 8 months? While the headlines all pointed to how China had surpassed Japan to become the world's second largest economy, no one noticed that the US economy inched from 14 trillion USD to 15 trillion USD. The US economy is still the largest and most resilient in the world. China's economy, despite all the decades' gains will show you how catastrophic that will be when it comes to their turn. With such hate-mongering among commentors on this site, it's no wonder the Soviet Union collapsed in the first place. The USA is not evil, but will be evil if necessary. That is true for Russia. So just on that basis, the USA and Russia do have a lot in common. Russia needs to watch and learn, not hate and moan for the past old days.
I hope Russia will stop allying itself with the losers of history. Iran poses a threat not only to the west or the moslem world, but also to the motherland. I do not want to see our great nation be stumbled to the lies and rhetoric of a dictator. Instead, we should try to build better ties with the west. They may not trust us, but we must understand that truth does not always lie with our enemy's enemies. When we reconcile with our enemies, they can turn to become our greatest friends.
@Laktov Trusting the West is a mortal game. Remember Napoleon, WWI, and WWII. Then the Cold War and the isolation of the USSR until her ultimate implosion. The West has never been and will never be a true partner, let alone a friend of Russia. Right now Russia is playing a high stakes chess game with the West and, let me assure you, is in the process of winning it. Russia has no issue with Iran, or any other country for that matter. She adheres to the new paradigm of cooperative international relations. However, Russia must protect her national interests like any other country, wisely and astutely. The Russian people are blessed to have leaders who can guide her through the land mines constantly being thought of and planted by the West.
Since Adolf Hitler no other nation has invaded and murdered so many people in such a short period ot time as the U.S. of America. Launching two consecutive Wars in two years, invading and occupying two nations of 30 million people each against the will of the people, establish corrupt puppet Governments...that had not happened since Adolf Hitler. America is breaking the internationsl order in a very dangerious way. The deepeness of the present financial crisis is just one consequence of that diabolic and bellicist American policy against the will of the People. America should learn to respect international law and international borders. What would the American People think if their nation was invaded and occupied by a mostly Muslim nation, establishing a puppet Government as they have done in Iraq and Afghanistan? Probably most Americans would say that militias should start a "guerrilla war" against the invaders. Probably they would call those militias "American Patriots"...but the (puppet) Government and President of America would call them "Terrorists", and in fact those groups with their bombs and attacks would kill many innocent Americans.
'No one can predict what its consequences will be.' I'll say WW3 at the least if not WW4 is we already has gone past WW3, this depends on how you look on things historic and political. I hope this never happens, but as with all other false flag operations, all the way from Nazi Germany Invading Poland September 1, 1939 to the Gulf of Tonkin Incident August 2, 1964 and the latest September 11, attack 2001. I'll say anything can happen as people seems to buy just anything these days, and it all comes down to how brainwashed we are in the west and in the former east. We are practically blind, mute and deaf without any motor to produce logical question marks where they are needed the most.
Russia has demostrated that is not good to make business and now it believes to be much more smart that western countries, but in this game Russia is going to lose everything. Russia is an distrust nation.
Nobody is going to start a war with Iran anytime in the near future. Iran is simply not worth the effort. But have fun whipping up your own paranoia. Whatever turns you on...
Stop and think for a moment, Enrique: in whose interests do you think Adolf Hitler acting? His goal was to create a 'homeland for the Jews' in Russia. This was his response to the 1922 decree by the League of Nations (regarding the matter of what to do with the territories that the Ottoman Empire had conquered and occupied prior to it's collapse) that a 'homeland for the Jews' be established on it's ancient site in Palestine. Now why do you think Hitler was so obsessed with situating that Jewish homeland anywhere but Palestine? Who do you think was behind that? Those people who did not want it there: the Muslim Arabs. That's the type of 'friends' that they are to Russia. Think about it.
@armen08 It is because of attitudes like yours that Russia is still stuck in the past. If we were more open to the world, and stop seeing everyone as an enemy, then we would be a far greater country now. Who are you to say that Iran does not plan land mines in Russia's way? What about traitors like Hugo Chavez? The west is at least more predictable. Their government is based on their peoples, and their peoples have standards. What standards do racist, hate-mongering Iranian leaders have? Russia is right in seeking greater cooperation with the west. We should not doubt the progress that our leaders have made so far.
@Laktov ... it's because of people like you most noble people have been stabbed in the back ... it's because of people like you countries have lost their faces and been covered in dirt .. i could go on and ... if you like the west so much ... go and live there but don't drag us there with you ... and don't lecture us ... cause you're way to ingnorant for that
It is people like laktov that makes me not lose all faith in Russia, while most of you are still living in the Cold War era. You guys fear the west, and are forgetting about the Chinese threat. China is steal Russian jets not the west, China is polluting Russian Rivers, China is allowing their people to walk into oil rich Eastern Russia.
Laktov historical facts show that the West was never a friend of Russia and is not a friend of Russia at the moment. I cannot say if the West will be in the future a friend of Russia. Let us take the WWII. What are taught to millions of students in west in the West about the events of WWII such as who paid the highest price in blood in defeating forces of Hitler and alliance in WWII? We know from facts- which are now available thanks primarily to the Internet- where one can read the actually documents of the Eastern Front-t that the Manchuria battle alone covered more lands than all of Western Europe but was the Red Army that defeated Japan in the great battle of Manchuria. We also know the other three key battles of WWII: Moscow in 1941, in Stalingrad in 1942 and in Kursk in 1943 took place in Russian terrortory and the British and Americans have decided to enter WWII fully after the Soviets defeated Hitler's army in the Greatest battle in the all recorded historical record, the Battle of Kursk. But today NATO feels entitled to lecture to Russia! Russians are strong and they know their history. I think those who stuck in the past are those who failed to appreciate that great powers they seem to possess is due to the accident of historical events than the feat of heroism in the battlefields of history!
Enrique, I wanted to respond to you on your comment. I am an American, middle class... "average joe". Israel wants land (and to destroy all Palestinians), and the American government has a strategic/financial stake in the middle east. A one world government can not be achieved without removing the few nations and ideologies standing in the way. The US Government will attack, occupy, and corrupt any nation in it's path.... murdering anyone, even American civilians and troops, to achieve total control over the middle east. I agree America should learn to respect international law and international borders, but please understand, ALL non-Americans, that the people of the USA are worn down and fearful at what our government is doing internationally. Our government is not ruled by the people, as was intended, but instead by private interest who have bought politicians, presidents, and judges for the last 60 years. America is a prison for the average worker, with the credit system and a corrupt Federal body slowly criminalizing and poisoning our culture, freedoms, and treading over our constitution.

We would revolt the same way the "terrorist" have in Iraq and Afghanistan, and yes: those true patriots would, and already have been, called terrorist by our government. Most Americans know we are in trouble, and it's inevitable that the US government will attack and occupy Iran, as well as Iraq and Afghanistan. It's "Un-American" to say so, and to speak the words in public would be social suicide, but a growing number of Americans do see, correctly, that the US government is a terrorist organization. The people are helpless because of the dependence our technology has given us. We are in fact lazy, stupid, and yes the majority of Americans will believe ANYTHING the mainstream media tells them. Believing what we're told and going along with the system is easier than giving up our home, credit, maybe family, and surely our life to fight against this system. After 911 happened there was some compelling evidence that we were all lied to about what happened, yet anyone considering this viewpoint were called un-patriotic and conspiracy theorist. We allowed our sons and daughters to die in the name of capitalist tyranny.

I hope the rest of the worl will stand up against any attacker and specially US if they attack Iran. I am tired of the retoric what US is using. We see it over and over again. World dominans is what US is afhter.
