Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko has asked Russia, China, Japan, the EU and the US for loans to support the country’s battered economy.
Kiev deliberately sabotaged talks with Moscow on a new gas contract, says the head of the Ukrainian parliamentary commission investigating the dispute.
Armed security servicemen have failed to gain access to the head office of Ukrtransgaz and have left the building. The second day of armed raids of Naftogaz proved less successful than the first.

Ukraine’s Nagtogaz has paid its debt to Gazprom in full. The bill was for gas supplied in February. Earlier in the day PM Vladimir Putin said if Ukraine failed to compensate by March 7, the supply would be stopped.
