Young violin players perform in the Moscow Conservatoire

Published 21 February, 2007, 03:58

The Oystrakh Second International violin competition has begun in Moscow. Musicians aged from 10 to 27 participate in the contest. Though the music competition has been held just for two years so far, its reputation is growing.

Many of the young violinists have never performed on the stage of the Moscow Conservatoire, and for them it's an experience they will never forget.

The final stage of the contest is a big challenge as they will have to perform with a symphony orchestra.

The winner will get a $US 5,000 prize.

Organisers are sure this contest will help find gifted children and ease their way into the music world.
