A statue of Margaret Thatcher has been unveiled in Britain's Houses of Parliament to join likenesses of other prominent former PMs. Previously there was a marble statue of the baroness, but it was beheaded by a vandal in 2002.
The new monument, by sculptor Antony Dufort, shows her in a typical posture, as though she is addressing the House of Commons, with her right arm outstretched.Margaret Thatcher was the first female British prime minister and the longest serving in the 20th century, occupying the office from 1979 to 1990.discuss it
