Spartak Moscow have signed both their captain and top scorer on new contracts. Egor Titov and Roman Pavluchenko put pen to paper on Monday, committing their futures to the club for another four years.
Roman Pavluchenko scored 18 goals in the domestic league last season, which made him the Russian Premier League's joint-top scorer.
Even more remarkable were his two goals that brought home victory against England and lead to Russia’s qualifying to Euro-2008. For these Pavluchenko, who joined Spartak Moscow in 2003, was dubbed ‘Destroyer of England’.
Also staying until 2011 is Egor Titov. The midfielder has been with the club for 15 years, graduating from its youth training system.
Both will lead Spartak into the last 32 of this season’s UEFA Cup.
