'The Soul of Montmartre' in Moscow

Russians adore Paris even though not many have been there. A new exhibition in Moscow’s Tretyakov Gallery opens a window onto the world of Parisian cabarets, music halls and brothels – the way they looked in the 19th century. They were captured on paper and canvas by Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. He so embodied the spirit of the city he lived in that he was called 'the Soul of Montmartre.'
