With a month to go before the start of the Beijing Olympics, Russia has unveiled the team’s official outfit. It features a fire-bird logo from Russian folklore, which both designers and athletes hope will bring the team good luck.

Basketball star Andrey Kirilenko from the Utah Jazz was among the stars who showed up to model the new dress code for the press.

The full kit includes 70 different garments, all created to be comfortable and stylish.

The Bosco Sport company won the contract to supply Russia’s Olympians for China.

The firebird logo from ancient Russian fairytales has captured the imagination of the competitors.

“I like it very much. It really reminds you of the old days of the Soviet Union and Russia. Some of the ideas come from the Russian folklore. I think all the athletes will appreciate it,” Andrey Kirilenko said.
