An 80-year-old woman who went missing in the forests of the Krasnodar region last week has been found alive and well.
The pensioner, whose name hasn’t been released by authorities, was discovered on Sunday by local rescue workers. She was hiding in a cave nine kilometres away from the spot where she had last been seen seven days before.
“She took shelter in a cave, where she hid from wild animals. That’s where we found her,” said a spokesman for the region’s rescue unit.
He added that the woman had appeared to be healthy but had been taken to hospital for check-ups as a precaution.
