It was called the pearl of Russia’s hydropower engineering. It produced the most energy; it had a very elegant design.
It was the biggest and the most dependable – the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydro-electric plant. But on August, 17th 2009 a disaster occurred.
Now, the reconstruction of the station is taking place 24/7, and will continue for another 4 years.
