New, clear energy

With rising demand for energy, especially electricity, the world is in need of new resources. Fossil fuels produce harmful carbon emissions and green technology may never be able to provide a reliable source of renewable energy. Despite ongoing concerns about the safety of nuclear power, it's likely going to play an increasingly large role in satisfying our needs. Several projects being developed in Russia will hopefully help make nuclear's enlarged role as safe as possible. Fast neutron reactors look to be the future of the industry, while an advanced gas-cooled reactor design could have benefits beyond electricity generation. And Russia's plans for a fleet of floating nuclear power stations will bring electricity, heat and fresh water to isolated populations. We’ve got the future covered.

What about cold fusion? In Greece, next month, a 1 Megawatt cold fusion reactor is opening.

How about we talk about that :).

Ya need some powdered nickel, some water, and electricity.

You get copper and a shit ton of energy. It has been verified and tested and retest by laboratory after laboratory after laboratory.

Did someone tell you "conspiracy theory" and you forgot to check?

This whole video is 351% irrelavent.

No offense.

In case none of you have bothered to notice, electricity demand in the United States is down 33% and has been down for almost 4 years.

Electricity demand will go up when you have to start using electricity to heat your homes because oil is too expensive or the greenies have banned oil fired central heating.

Fusion is a lovely dream but they have yet to produce a stable working system that generates more power than it consumes.

A decent fusion power plant is 50 years away.

This video shows mature proven technology that can be made right now, which is far more practical for Russia.

Nuclear power for remote regions in Russia will boost productivity and growth and reduce the impact of humans on the environment.... it takes a long time for a tree to grow in Siberia, but it burns fairly quickly to heat a house.

The added bonus for island nations is that it can be used to produce fresh water and a reliable electricity production source.

I wonder if you guys could do a program on the new nuclear powered rocket they are planning to use as a tug to take cargo to other planets or to zip around in orbit of earth cleaning up all the space debris. To fill out a whole program you could also look at other nuclear plans like the nuclear powered train, and small NPPs for satellites and even light houses and how they have improved and future areas to improve them further.

where exactly did your information come from? in the state of Texas demand is its highest ever. New nuclear power is definitely the way to go. And we should not let any coal lobbyist who make comments change our minds. cold fusion is still very very far away even at the ITER reactor in France. The world just birthed its 7th billionth child electricity demand is destined to rise!

We've had zero point energy since Tesla.  You can build one of these generators in your garage.  The plans and equations are out there.  The reason you don't hear about it is you can't put a meter on zero point energy, so no profit.  Time to evolve.
