I always enjoy Peter Lavelle's crosstalk. I hope that other provinces of Ukraine get to have referendums like Crimea but I'm not holding my breath considering we're dealing with EU, US, neocon dinosaur neo fascists and extremist lunatics.

US+EU are acting like a pair of juvenile delinquent.US accuses Russia for invading Crimea and allowing a free referendum for Crimean to democratically vote for either staying under Russian rule or not.96% voted to be with Russians,so US+EU unleashed a series of illegal & unjust(uni-lateral) sanctions against Russia. On the same token, would USA,the embodiment of western democracy and free world, hold a referendum in the invaded countries such as Afghanistan,Libya,Ir aq or even Syria and let people make informed decisions, about being ruled under US occupation or not.96% will say death to USA and 4% will say death to US+EU.

RT team - have you thought about creating something like an "over-time" ; / "recording only" extra time for a CrossTalk shows? Some of the CrossTalk shows are too limited by the "live time" restraints. Perhaps "over-time" ; (an internet only recordings) might help?

Let's be candid. The USgovt was trying to colonize Ukraine using PLANNED regime change in the fall of Kiev. Putin stopped them and saved Crimea at the same time.

Interesting.

Who benefits from all this nonsense mayhem in Crimea? The American taxpayers? The EU taxpayers?

Is this another undeclared war of Multinationals/Corpo rate mercenaries VS "weaker" states?

Salutation from Melbourne Australia...
To the people of Crimea...Congratulat ions and Welcome back to your home, Russia. May God Protect and Bless Russia and her President Putin and its peoples throughout her continent.
Unlike many in the West, some of us, although a small minority of non-Russian or Ukrainian descent are with you and have supported your self-determination. Cheers

I second your voice mate! From America the land of the free (at least use to be free), I am amazed as to our people failure to see our anti-Christian foreign policies.

By now you'd expect a massive air, road and rail influx of American war material into Ukraine to prop up its eastern oligarchs in the Donbas when they attempt to suppress emerging Russian separatism there.

Hitl er failed to hold the Donbas because of racism: he failed to support Bandera and later Vlasov.

Now it is different - except that the overpopulated world is even shorter in resources than it was then, given global warming & 'leave it the ground' Green attitudes towards Uranium nuclear power! Hence a democratic egalitarian resolution to the world's problems is NOT a realistic or even desirable goal!

UkrToday 19.03.2014 08:03

And they wonder why their is a loss of confidence in the politcial system. The rules only aply when it suits the US narrative. Democray is based on rule of law and represenative government.

UkrToday 19.03.2014 08:01

7 years ago to the month Vicktor Yushchenko illegally and unconstitutionally dismissed #Ukraine's democratically elected Parliament causing 7 months politcial and civil unrest.

Yus hchenko even went to the extent of interfering with the independence of Ukraine's Constitutional Court in order to prevent the court from ruling against his decree.

The EU made noise and then soon after, along with the US, remained silent, knowing full well that his actions were unconstitutional.

The election that followed left Ukraine just as divided with Yulia Tymoshenko being elcted PM with a majority of one MP.
