Why don't you call for a new meeting of the Surety Council and use your power of veto? Why do you permit that US take the Libyan oil? I can't understand this behaviour.
I usually enjoy watching your program. However, Your guest, Eric Garris did nothing for me except annoy me. He was very rude and seemed like when he did talk, that all that came out was canned drivel. I would have liked to hear what the other two gentlemen had to say on the situation since they are a bit closer to the "action" then Mr. Garris. Again, I enjoy your show except when you have blow hards that won't let anyone else talk as guests.
Everyone goto wikipedia and look up straw man. Then you will understand what "jacques" is trying to do. He is trying to play the side of the russians with the deliberate attempt to fail in looking good, thus making the russians look bad. Typical americans with their petty dirty tricks.
Dear Mr Lavelle ,
The disaster in Lybia is the result of the betrayal and downfall of the Soviet Union which ensured by its Vetos of steel by the great Mr MOLOTOV ( Vyacheslav Mikhailovich ) ordered by Stalin ( Josef Vissarionovich Djugashvili ) that the World was not dominated and exploited by The United States of America ( Aptly called the Great Satan by Ayatollah Khomeini )
RUSSIA and The Peoples Republic of China ( both of which I admire ) Failed in their duty by not using their Veto powers to prevent this coming disastrous intervention in Lybia by NATO the dog of the US ; all of which are militarily incapable of winning any wars due to their pathetic armies .
I grew up in Belgium in the great days of the Soviet Union under Stalin and Molotov . In those days the World had a feeling of stability because the Capitalist powers could not do what they wanted !
The US must respect the wishes of the Libyan rebels and must not put soldiers on the ground. They can instead supply weapons and logistics to the rebels and let them fight their own battles. Any interfernce on the ground shall be considered an imperialist act to take over oil fields. If they go ahead and put soldiers on the ground, another Iraq tragedy will occur. That is most likely the intention of the US right-wing politicians who endorsed this idea and purposefully introduced the UN resolution with alot of loopholes.
