Underdog Ural Great comes off victorious in neck-and-neck battle

Ural Great have won the first leg of their EuroChallenge Men's Basketball quarter-final against Moscow region's Triumph squad.
Triumph came into the match with fellow Russians, Ural Great, as favourties to get their EuroChallenge quarter-final series off to a winning start.
The Moscow club had the home court advantage, and were fresh from beating their opponents from Perm in the Russian Super League just a few weeks ago.
The home side got off to the better start as they raced into an early lead. Triumph had trouble finding their range from the 3 point line, but it was a different story in the paint, as they opened up a nine-point-lead at the end of the first quarter.
And they continued where they left off at the start of the second, as the visitors struggled to get a foothold in the game.
As half-time approached, Ural Great finally began to up their game. In the end, the visitors went into the halfway stage with a one-point lead, at 41 to 40.
The second half opened with a series of three pointers for Triumph as they looked to pull away from their opponents. However, Ural Great responded effectively every time. And the visitors began to pull away, opening up a five-point lead going into the final quarter.
Ural continued to dominate, and with just six minutes to go, leading by 11 points.
But, Triumph ate into the visitors lead, tie-ing the game at 90 points all with just seconds to go, sending the quarter-final into extra time.
All momentum was with the home side, which looked every bit in control.
But Ural Great secured a thrilling two-point victory in extra time – and could now book their place in the semis by winning game two on Thursday.
