Former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis is afraid for David Haye over his bout with WBA belt holder Nikolay Valuev from Russia scheduled on November 7.

Haye is a lot smaller than his rival, who is 2.13-meters tall and is nicknamed the Russian Giant.

This fact has made Lewis conclude that the Valuev-Haye fight will be almost a physical mismatch, with Haye only having an advantage in speed.

"I don't like to see heavyweights giving away too much, and David is giving away everything against Valuev. David is fast and brave, but he will be nearly a foot shorter and about 100 pounds lighter, and that is a massive amount," Lennox Lewis told The Mirror newspaper.

But Lewis believes that there’s always a way that a smaller boxer can bring the bigger one down.

“There are ways to beat the big men of the sport and Evander Holyfield came close last year against Valuev. I told Evander that I thought that he won on the night, but it is hard to win in Germany," he explained.

David Haye, who was interviewed by The Guardian newspaper, understands the fears of his legendary countryman. He agreed that the fight in Germany will be a tough one and he’ll have to tumble over himself to win.

“I'm going to have to fight better than I've fought before. I'm going to have to take a shot better than I've ever done before. I'm going to have to hit harder. My reflexes have got to be faster. I've got to be able to cover more distance, be quicker on my feet than I've ever been," Haye said.

And Nikovay Valuev doesn’t consider the difference in height and weight as a reason to feel relaxed.

“I treat Haye very seriously, like I do with all my other rivals. It would be stupid of me to treat him differently. Haye is another important step on my way to success,” he told Sportbox.ru.
