Russian Knight one step closer to Klitschko after beating Estrada

Russian heavyweight Aleksandr Povetkin has beaten American Jason Estrada on points to remain the main contender to fight Ukrainian champ Wladimir Klitschko for his IBF title.
The referees unanimously awarded victory to the Russian boxer after a ten-round bout in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Saturday night.
The Russian Knight (17 wins – 0 losses, 12 of which were KOs) failed to land the vital punch and knock out Estrada (15-2, 3 KOs), but was always in control during the fight.
Povetkin, who is the 2004 Olympic champion, remains unbeaten in the professional ring and remains the number one contender for the IBF title, currently held by Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs).
The Russian had already been the mandatory challenger for the Ukrainian, but bowed out of the fight scheduled for December because of a foot injury.
