“Fast” Eddie Chambers (35-1) has given his opinion on what went wrong for Chris Arreola during last Saturday's loss to Vitaly Klitschko, and what the upcoming action in the ring will be for the Ukrainian’s brother.
The WBO mandatory challenger to Vitaly’s sibling Wladimir Klitschko, US heavyweight Eddie Chambers, shed light on the tactics he’s going to use against the Ukrainian, and explained why Chris Arreola lost to during Vitaly Klitschko last Saturday.
Eddie Chambers isn’t nicknamed “Fast” without good reason. He says his speed is the key to bringing back the WBO belt.
“That obviously will be my biggest advantage. Part of the game plan will be getting inside and getting to the body and work my jab to his head and his body,” Eddie Chambers said to Boxingscene.com.
The US boxer said he was carefully watching the bout between his countryman Chris Arreola and the elder of the Klitschko brothers – WBC champ Vitaly – and learned something for himself.
“I learned basically from fighting Dimitrenko that you can't just stand outside or you will get picked apart. You have to fight your way in and if you get it they know you are going to punch so they will just hold you and wait for the referee to break you up. You have to punch on your way in. When Chris threw his jab on his way in he was able to land shots and the crowd got into it and everything started to look a little better. Every time you stop throwing the jab and you stand on the outside and try to walk in even with a little bit of effort all he has to do his grab you. There is nothing you can do at that point. Use your legs and work your way in but throw as you go in,” he explained.
The date of the bout is not yet set as Wladimir Klitschko won’t return to the ring until next year, but it is known that it will take place in Germany, where Klitschko’s headquarters are situated and where they enjoy the large support of fans and, possibly, referees.
“I don't intend to leave it to the judges. I am not saying I am going to knock him out but I am going to try to beat him so bad that there will be no doubt who won,” Eddie Chambers said.
To conclude, the American delivered a rather ambitious message to his fans.
“I am bringing the titles back to the USA. Simple as that. Thanks for your support. I will bring those titles back. All four of them,” he said.
