Dick Advocaat couldn’t lead Russia to the Euro 2012 playoffs, but the Dutchman is still the winner if one takes a look at his bank account.
His side have managed just one victory in Poland and Ukraine, but, according to Novaya Gazeta, it didn’t prevent Advocaat from receiving almost €7 million for the past year.
This sum is twice as much as any of his counterparts at the tournament.
For example, the joint salary of the coaches of Czech Republic and Greece, who sent Russia packing at Euro 2012, is just €700.000.
Italy’s manager Cesare Prandelli sits second on the list, earning €3 million – but unlike Russia – his squad reached the Last 8.
Germany's Joachim Loew completes the top three, with the annual salary of €2.5 million.
While Croatia boss, Slaven Bilic, who will be in charge of Lokomotiv Moscow next season, was the lowest paid Euro 2012 coach, with just €160,000 added to his account.
The salaries of the national team coaches at Euro 2012:
Poland – Franciszek Smuda – €300.000
